Bouquets to Art and the Art of Flowers
I am delighted to be an exhibitor at the annual Bouquets to Art exhibition and hope that you can visit the exhibition and see my new installation. The exhibition is hosted at the de Young museum and runs from March 19-23. Early in my career I developed a love for unconventional juxtapositions – modern and antique, stark and ornate, bold and subtle – that can be seen in my work today on both large and small scales. I have always thought of myself as an artist first and a businesswoman second, and Bouquets to Art allows me to express my artistic bent without commercial considerations. More than 125 of the Bay Area’s top floral designers participate in Bouquets to Art and pay tribute to and draw inspiration from the art in the de Young’s permanent collections. Proceeds from the exhibition helps support conservation projects, education programs, and special exhibitions at the de Young and Legion of Honor museums.
The following photos of my work for Bouquets to Art span 15 years and are indicative of my ever evolving tastes and influences over the years.
